Suzan Hughes, and her late husband, Mark Hughes, built Herbalife into the top global health and wellness business with annual sales in the US alone of $5 Billion. The Hughes family worked tirelessly until Herbalife ascended to the world's preeminent authority on herbal nutrition. Suzan’s life long study of health and wellness was the perfect match to Mark’s passion . Together, they catapulted Herbalife into the stratosphere.
Suzan Hughes is not just amongst the worlds leading female entrepreneurs, she is also National Association of Sports Medicine Certified Fitness Expert. Hughes award winning fitness video "Take Ten to a Better You" quickly sold out and Hughes donated a portion of the sales to child advocacy programs. Hughes’ goal is to assure that one's body is fit inside and out, as well as spiritually balanced. She is also a second degree brown belt in Karate.
In addition to Suzan Hughes’ dedication to health and wellness, she is a devoted mother and respected children’s advocate. After completing a two year course in parenting from the Resources for Infant Educators (R.I.E), Hughes declared it her life's mission to raise awareness about the importance of parenting skills. Hughes also served 7 years as a Community Circle leader for the Beverly Hills School District and taught self-esteem and solutions for the prevention of violence and bullying.
Hughes also served on the Board of the Maple Counseling Center, serves as an Honorary Board Member of Century City 4 Kids, and is on the honorary board for the Sheeba Medical Center. She is also Chairperson of the Star Gem Foundation where she has taught health and safety to over 20,000 children in the Los Angeles School District.
Hughes’ philanthropic achievements have impacted the lives of many. She has raised millions of dollars and has been honored and recognized with awards such as the D.A.R.E. Future of America Award, the prestigious Wallis Annenberg Founders Award from the Southern California Counseling Center, the Woman of Achievement Award from the Friends of Sheba Medical Center, and is a three-time winner of the Woman of the Year Award.
